Janelle Monae

Gabrielle R. McCord is a nationally recognized health educator, advocate, and community leader dedicated to advancing Black maternal and reproductive health, mental health, and cancer advocacy. As a Stage 3 cervical cancer survivor, postpartum doula, and public health professional, she is driven by a mission to close health equity gaps and restore trust in care for Black and BIPOC families.
A mother, wife, and woman of faith, Gabrielle credits her journey to God’s grace and guidance. Her lived experience fuels her commitment to helping others heal, mind, body, and spirit, through storytelling, education, and community-based support.
Under her leadership, The Community Rebirth Foundation, Inc. continues to build bridges between advocacy and action, ensuring that every voice is heard and every story becomes part of the collective healing.
In addition to her executive leadership, she currently serves as Interim Secretary for the Foundation’s Board of Directors, providing organizational oversight and governance support. Her work centers on public health equity, trauma-informed care, and the power of community storytelling to drive systemic change.

Raina Brown, MSW, is an author, entrepreneur, and mental health advocate dedicated to supporting the African American community and military families.
As the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for The Community Rebirth Foundation, Inc., she brings a culturally grounded, trauma-informed approach to healing and community care.
A PCOS survivor, Raina openly shares her journey with fertility, grief, and reproductive loss, including her experience with elective termination, to remind others that healing is possible and that “it’s okay not to be okay.”
With her Master of Social Work, she is committed to helping individuals and families navigate life’s hardest moments with truth, grace, and hope.

Evangelist SeQuetta Crowley is a devoted minister, proud mother, and seasoned servant of God with more than 20 years of dedicated ministry experience. Deeply rooted in St. Emmanuel COGIC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she has spent decades uplifting and transforming lives through the power of the Gospel. Known for her unmistakably powerful voice and her gift for connecting with people from all walks of life, she has ministered to hundreds, if not thousands, throughout her calling.
In addition to her spiritual leadership, Evangelist Crowley brings a robust professional background in banking and financial services & Law Enforcement This unique combination of ministry and marketplace expertise gives her a rare ability to lead with both logic, wisdom and compassion.
As the Director of Spiritual Affairs for The Community Rebirth Foundation, Inc., she will draw on her decades of ministry experience, her deep love for God’s people, and her financial acumen to help shape the organization’s spiritual direction with integrity, clarity, and purpose. Her presence is both grounding and visionary. She is rooted in faith, driven by service, and committed to the healing and uplift of the community.

Candice Julien serves as the Director of Community Initiatives for The Community Rebirth Foundation, Inc., bringing both technical expertise and grassroots passion to her work. She holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology and uses her skills to bridge innovation with impact across community programs.
A U.S. Army veteran, Candice served four years as an Intelligence Specialist and Security Manager, where she developed a strong foundation in leadership, strategy, and coordination. Her military experience continues to inform her commitment to structure, discipline, and service within her community work.
Candice leads the Community Rebirth Garden of Grace Initiative, a project dedicated to cultivating wellness, sustainability, and connection through community gardening. With a lifelong love of nature and a true green thumb, she believes in the healing power of the earth and the importance of food sovereignty for Black and BIPOC families.
A longtime advocate and community voice, Candice has spoken at Black Lives Matter and Hands Up, Don’t Shoot demonstrations, standing firmly for justice and collective empowerment. Her leadership reflects both compassion and courage, reminding those around her that real change grows from the ground up.

Gwendolyn Jackson serves as the Director of Community Partnerships for The Community Rebirth Foundation, Inc., bringing resilience, compassion, and faith to every aspect of her work. A proud Houston native, she is a Stage 4B Cervical Cancer Thriver whose journey has become a beacon of hope for others walking through their own battles.
Gwendolyn is the founder of the Roy L. Jackson Community Outreach Center, a nonprofit dedicated to providing outreach resources and case management for cancer warriors and survivors. Through her leadership, she ensures that no one faces diagnosis or recovery alone.
A devoted mother, grandmother, author, and advocate, Gwendolyn has shared her story across platforms including Wise New Network, Serenity, Courage & Wisdom, Inc., The Patient Story, CNS, Wall Street Journal, Bold Journey Magazine, Cervivor, and Sit Girl Atlanta Magazine.
Her unwavering faith continues to inspire those around her, reminding every survivor that healing begins when we walk by faith, not by sight.

Kimberley McCord is a dedicated community advocate with a long history of volunteer service in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her work has focused on supporting families through grief and loss, helping to create compassionate spaces for healing and restoration.
In addition to her community engagement, Ms. McCord possesses extensive knowledge of naturopathic healing and the use of herbs for wellness. Her practical experience and holistic approach contribute greatly to the Foundation’s mission of promoting culturally grounded, whole-person care.
She currently co-leads the Womb-Herbs Healing Initiative, a program dedicated to compiling and sharing herbal resources for womb health. This initiative includes the development of a healing herb database, educational workshops, and a community garden collaboration, bridging traditional knowledge with modern community wellness practices.

Shannon Bentley serves as the Director of Education & Training for The Community Rebirth Foundation, Inc. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and has conducted extensive research on Black maternal health and the necessity of doulas and birthworkers in improving health outcomes for Black and BIPOC families.
With a passion for teaching and empowerment, Shannon helps design and lead educational initiatives that equip advocates, doulas, and community members with the knowledge to create lasting change. Her work bridges scholarship and service, ensuring that every training program reflects both cultural competence and compassion.
Shannon’s leadership is grounded in her belief that education is not just a tool for awareness, but a pathway to liberation, healing, and stronger communities.

Ashlie Edwards is a seasoned financial professional with a plethera of experience in Management and the banking industry. Her extensive background in finance and management ensures strong fiscal oversight and organizational sustainability for the Foundation.
A resilient Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer Thriver, Ashlie brings a powerful blend of professional skill and personal purpose to her work. In addition to her financial leadership, she serves as one of the leads for the Foundation’s Cancer Advocacy Training Program, using her voice and story to empower others through education and community support.

Kevin Julien serves as the Treasurer for The Community Rebirth Foundation, Inc., bringing a deep sense of discipline, integrity, and service to his role. He is a Systems Specialist II with certifications in Security+ and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), blending technical expertise with strategic insight.
Before entering the tech field, Kevin served 7½ years in the United States Navy as an Intelligence Professional, where he worked alongside agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the National Security Agency (NSA) to strengthen relationships and improve collaboration between key stakeholders.
Beyond his professional life, Kevin is committed to giving back. He has helped to organize food drives for families in need and continues to dedicate his time to initiatives that support the growth, healing, and empowerment of BIPOC communities. His leadership reflects the Foundation’s values of accountability, service, and community restoration.
